Be All There – Thought for December 27, 2014

Wherever you are – be all there.

Jim Elliot

Found this quote the other day and it jumped out at me. I had no idea who Jim Eliot was, but I really liked his message.

I checked out his bio and now I understand how he lived this message. He was focused on what he believed in, regardless of what others said or thought, even his parents.

A very devout Christian, he wanted to spread the word through missionary work. And even though his plans never seemed to work out exactly the way that they were originally laid out, he remained focused and just made them work. He had planned a missionary trip with a friend to Ecuador, but then his friend had to back out so he kept searching for someone to accompany him and eventually found a way.

To me, this message just reconfirms what I have already come to realize, that if I want to accomplish any of my visions, of my goals, then I have to get laser focused until I get there. And then WHEN I GET there, I cannot just stop, I need to go further. I need to achieve more. I will always need to give back more, much much more, than I have received.

That is the journey that I am on, that we are on.  We WILL get there.

How about you?

See you on the inside. Be All There, otherwise there is no sense in being there at all

About joatmon14

Man in recovery from everything, looking for a little help, inspiration and direction.... Have spent the last 25 years working in big business, getting lost in all the chaos, not feeling like what I did mattered. By no means am I a professional writer nor do I even think I am that good, but it is something I love to do. Getting lost in a world of words, even for just a little while is why I started my blogs. In reality, at the age of 49 I am trying to find my voice. To find my passion. Maybe starting a little late, but better late than never. I write for me, I enjoy reading other's thoughts very much as well and look forward to the day that I can hold an extended, intelligent, meaningful conversation with YOU View all posts by joatmon14
